  2. In the address bar, type “C:\Program Data\ Intuit\Entitlement Client\ v8.”
  3. After opening the folder, select all the files by pressing “Ctrl+A.”
  4. Hit on “Delete” and click on “Yes” to confirm the action.
  5. Restart QuickBooks POS and try to register again.

 

2nd Method: Rename the WS Activity File

  1. First, launch “Windows Explorer” by pressing the “Windows + E” key combination.
  2. Enter the following address: “C:\Program Data\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale XX\Ini.”
  3. Look for the “WS Activity” file and right-click on it to “Rename” the file.
  4. Add “OLD” as a prefix to the existing name of the file (“OLDWSACTIVITY”) and save the change by clicking anywhere on the screen.
  5. Exit the window and restart the QuickBooks POS application.

 

3rd Method: Clean Installation of QuickBooks POS 

First, you will have to uninstall the existing version of QuickBooks POS.

  1. Head to the “Start” menu and search for “Control Panel.”
  2. Open the “Control Panel” and click on the “Programs and Features” option.
  3. Look for “QuickBooks Point of Scale 18.0” from the list of programs and right-click on it to “Uninstall/Change.”

  1. Now, copy the existing Point of Scale data folder to the Desktop and add “.OLD” as a suffix to the folder’s name.

This will prevent the QuickBooks POS from recognizing the “OLD” folder and creating a new one during a clean installation.

Second, delete the QBPOSDBSrvUSER Windows User by following the steps mentioned below:

  1. Again, head to the “Start” menu and look for the “Control Panel.”
  2. Choose the “User Accounts” options and opt for “Manage Other Account.”
  3. Next, search for the QBPOSDBSrvUSER and delete it.
  4. Cross-check whether the user is deleted successfully or not.
  5. Finally, reboot your system, to begin with, the re-installation of QuickBooks software.
